EFCC breaks into Lagos lodge, arrests 30 above fraud

No fewer than 30 suspects have been arrested by operatives of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee in the course of a raid on Parktonian Resort in the Lekki place of Lagos Condition.

In the course of the raid on Tuesday, the operatives were alleged to have received entry into the occupants’ rooms by seizing the grasp cards from the administration of the resort at gunpoint.

When the operatives received entry into the rooms, it was learnt that some of the occupants had been naked beneath the quilt as the operatives interrogated the occupants.

Just one of the victims, whilst lamenting the invasion, informed the Peoples Gazette, “I was naked, and I had to beg them (for me) to set one thing on. I am essentially hypertensive, but I put myself with each other due to the fact I am not a criminal in any way.”

An eyewitness informed the Peoples Gazette, “They broke into the lodge and threatened to shoot the receptionists and management workers if they did not promptly launch the master entry card to them. So, the hotel staff experienced to comply right away.”

In accordance to the newspaper, it was learnt that no less than 13 attendees had been whisked absent by the EFCC operatives during the raid.

Through a phone interview with a consultant of the Parktonian Resort, who merely identified himself as Christian, he explained to The PUNCH correspondent that he was not aware of the incident.

He explained, “I am not in the ideal position to communicate to you it is the supervisor that can converse to you. I just resumed this night I have been off for some times and I just resumed currently. I really do not know what you are speaking about.”

Having said that, when contacted, the spokesperson for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, explained the operatives acted on confirmed intelligence specific at suspects at Parktonian Lodge, introducing that 30 suspects had been arrested in the course of the raid.

He explained, “Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, acting on verified intelligence, carried out a sting procedure targeted at cybercrime suspects at Parktonian Hotel in the Lekki location of Lagos State in the early hrs of Tuesday.

“During the exercise, 30 suspects ended up arrested. Of this variety, 24 have been recognized to be included in online-similar fraud. The procedure was executed devoid of incident as the facility had been less than surveillance for months all through which the fee was equipped to isolate the rooms where by the suspects have been lodged.
